Bad at being bad: A few final thoughts on the Oakland Raiders

It’s been a long, tough year for Oakland Raider fans, so Greg McLeod keeps his comments brief – he’s happy to see 2014 in the rear view mirror.

About

Melbourne, Australia based NFL fan (real and fantasy). First memory of the NFL is Super Bowl XVI (49ers v Bengals) in 1982. For reasons that cannot be recalled now, commenced following the Oakland Raiders at that time. Has seen two American football games live: December 1985 UTEP v Wyoming at Waverley Park and 2013 at Melbourne University.

Week 13 – Oakland @ St. Louis: Normal service has resumed in Oakland

Greg McLeod gets right to the point: there isn’t much to say about Oakland’s 52-0 loss to St. Louis other than some very misleading statistics.

Week 12 – Kansas City @ Oakland: Raiders’ black hole takes down Chiefs

Hooray! For the first time in 2014, Greg McLeod gets to write about an Oakland win! The Raiders put on a late drive to sneak past the Kansas City Chiefs 24-20 and give their home fans something to cheer about.

Week 11 – Oakland @ San Diego: Happy one year anniversary of our last win

It’s tough work being an Oakland Raiders fan and once again, Greg McLeod finds very little to get excited about. You know it’s bad when he’s praising the punter.

Week 9 – Oakland @ Seattle: At 0-8, is it time for the Raiders to give up on the playoffs?

Oakland fan Greg McLeod facetiously admits that his 0-8 Raiders aren’t going to make the playoffs. But on a serious note, their 14-game losing streak has him quite concerned.

Raiders fan Greg McLeod writes that in a week of spectacular NFL numbers, the Oakland/Cleveland game never hit those heights…and the Raiders remain winless.
