Week 17 – Detroit @ Green Bay: “Because they’re the Lions.”

Ed Wyatt says he never expected the Detroit Lions to beat the Green Bay Packers in Sunday’s winner-take-all NFC North battle. Why? “Because they’re the Lions.”

About Ed Wyatt

Ed Wyatt grew up in Halfway, Maryland, following the Baltimore Colts like his football coach father. When he lost his Bert Jones #7 jersey at the Lincolnshire Elementary School playground, he should have taken it as an omen, since the Colts left Baltimore for Indianapolis. Ed has managed to avoid full time work by talking on the radio, smiling on the television and tapping on the keyboard of his computer. He won a number of local Emmy awards with the Seattle-based comedy show Almost Live! and hosted the Super Bowl live on Australian television for nine years. He is a graduate of Stanford University.

Week 16 – Green Bay @ Tampa Bay: Just one more loss, please

Just one more week. Tampa Bay fan Declan Boffa can’t wait for this season to end and he’s ready for the team to draft a marquee quarterback and start rebuilding.

Week 13 – New England @ Green Bay: The Pats meet Aaron

New England fan Sam Wilkinson admires Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but hates the way he torments the Patriots in the game many called a Super Bowl preview.

About

Sam Wilkinson lives in Melbourne, Australia. His appreciation for the New England Patriots sees him awake at some ridiculous hours just to catch their game. Like all Pats fans, he refuses to admit that one day Tom Brady will get old and have to retire.

Week 8: Green Bay @ New Orleans – “Not with a bang, but a whimper…”

Okay, so it may be going a bit OTT to link T.S Eliot’s ‘The Hollow Men’ to Green Bay, but a match that promised so much ended up being something of a rout.

About Steve Baker

Steve Baker cashed in his horses for choppers and went tear-assing around ‘Nam, looking for the shit. He’s been known to chopper in t-bones and beer and turn the L-Z into a beach party. Steve’s the defending ‘Most Pessimistic Dallas Fan’ champion and is in the midst of a life-long campaign to one day buy the Cowboys off Jerry Jones and end the madness. He’s also chief button-pusher for the Footy Almanac Podcast, so you can blame him.

Week 6 – Green Bay Packers @ Miami Dolphins: Wind back the “Clock Play”

Miami fan Matthew Minchin sees some irony (and legendary Dolphins’ QB Dan Marino) in the trick play that helped Green Bay beat his team over the weekend.

About Matthew Minchin

An avid sports fan born and raised in the U.S. Graduated from the University of Florida in 2005, and has split time between the U.S. and Australia for the past few years. Favourite teams include the Tampa Bay Rays (MLB), Miami Dolphins (NFL), and the Carlton Blues (AFL).

NFL Week 5 – Minnesota @ Green Bay: Boyhood memories

Bruce Berglund, Editor of the sensational new sports website the Allrounder, gets ready to watch his beloved Vikings on the national stage. Watching the Vikings on the big stage used to fill Bruce with excitement, but now anticipation is muted.

Week 5 – Minnesota @ Green Bay: Four days is a long time in football

Ed Wyatt says the NFL is a week-to-week proposition at the best of times, but a four-day turnaround proved to be a nightmare for the Vikings, who got pummelled by the Packers.

He won a number of local Emmy awards with the Seattle-based comedy show Almost Live! and hosted the Super Bowl live on Australian television for nine years. He is a graduate of Stanford University.

A Green Bay memory

The start of the NFL season has stirred the memory of Rod Oaten, who watched the Green Bay Packers play in Milwaukee back in 1992.

Week 1 – Green Bay @ Seattle: The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle

Ed Wyatt, who spent many years watching moribund Seattle sports teams, enjoyed the Seahawks opening day win over the Green Bay Packers on a sunny, festive day in the Emerald City.
