Week 16 – San Diego @ San Francisco: when losing is (painful) winning?

Remember that old Split Enz song “Conflicting Emotions?” That’s what’s going on with 49ers’ fan Josh Slocum, who’s trying to find the balance between being competitive and planning for next season.

About Josh Slocum

Born into the red and white of the South Melbourne Swans, I remember being amazed at age 7 to see a team with our colours that actually won something when the 1984 49ers won the Superbowl. I’ve been following the red, white and gold ever since. Of recent times my frustrations at not winning a Superbowl since 1994 can be heard occasionally on the aussieguysnfl podcast.

Week 14 – New England @ San Diego: What is this Bieber Curse?

New England fan Sam Wilkinson was nervous when he saw some of the Patriots hanging with Justin Bieber. But fortunately the “Bieber Curse” didn’t affect the Pats in their game against San Diego.

About

Sam Wilkinson lives in Melbourne, Australia. His appreciation for the New England Patriots sees him awake at some ridiculous hours just to catch their game. Like all Pats fans, he refuses to admit that one day Tom Brady will get old and have to retire.

Week 11 – Oakland @ San Diego: Happy one year anniversary of our last win

It’s tough work being an Oakland Raiders fan and once again, Greg McLeod finds very little to get excited about. You know it’s bad when he’s praising the punter.

About

Melbourne, Australia based NFL fan (real and fantasy). First memory of the NFL is Super Bowl XVI (49ers v Bengals) in 1982. For reasons that cannot be recalled now, commenced following the Oakland Raiders at that time. Has seen two American football games live: December 1985 UTEP v Wyoming at Waverley Park and 2013 at Melbourne University.

Week 9 – San Diego @ Miami: The Dolphins’ big statement

James Caughlin takes a close look at the Miami Dolphins, who are still in the playoff hunt after a 37-0 thrashing of the San Diego Chargers.

About James Caughlin

Growing up in Brisbane Australia, James got into the NFL during the 2000 season thanks to the Madden NFL video game. His cousins told him to use the Patriots (as a prank on him) but 3 Super Bowls and multiple winning season’s later, he has had the last laugh. Now you will hear him yelling at the TV around 4am on a Monday morning watching every Patriots game live.

Week 8 – San Diego @ Denver: Broncos back up after half a week

A few days after witnessing Peyton Manning set the all-time NFL touchdowns record, Tony McLeod was back at Mile High watching the Denver Broncos take on division rivals San Diego.

About

Tony McLeod grew up in Melbourne, lives in Canberra and is spending 6 months in Colorado in 2014 where he is trying to get to as many Denver Broncos and University of Colorado Buffaloes games as possible. He is part of the generation introduced to the game by Don Lane via his elder brother.

Week 6: You would think we’d have learned by now

James Caughlin writes that the rumblings within the New England fanbase have quieted somewhat now that their beloved Patriots have won two consecutive games and are back on top of the AFC East.

Week 5 – NY Jets @ San Diego: “The horror… the horror…”

Steve Baker put the feet up at the ranch, turned his attention from the NFC East to watch the AFC clash between Gang Green and the Bolts. His take-away? “Stop! *sob* Stop… [it’s] already deaaad… *sobbing*”

About Steve Baker

Steve Baker cashed in his horses for choppers and went tear-assing around ‘Nam, looking for the shit. He’s been known to chopper in t-bones and beer and turn the L-Z into a beach party. Steve’s the defending ‘Most Pessimistic Dallas Fan’ champion and is in the midst of a life-long campaign to one day buy the Cowboys off Jerry Jones and end the madness. He’s also chief button-pusher for the Footy Almanac Podcast, so you can blame him.

Week 4 – Jacksonville @ San Diego: No country for running backs

A wedding caused Sir Damon to miss an NFL game in London for the first time, but thanks to GamePass he managed to watch his Jaguars lose yet another one.

About Sir Damon

Sir Damon (may or may not be his real name) grew up in Los Angeles but has spent most of his life riding the Hammersmith & City line from Wood Lane to Baker Street. He was a fan of the old Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe and while highly skeptical that the Jacksonville Jaguars will become “London’s team,” he’s willing to give it a shot.

Week 3 – San Diego @ Buffalo: Daddy’s New Car

Bills Fans are wondering if E.J Manuel can grow up to be just like Philip Rivers

About

Sean Walsh grew up in Regional Victoria at a time when only two sports existed, Australian Football in Winter and Cricket in Summer. Boarding school and University opened his eyes to a wider world of sport. A Buffalo Bills fan since 1991 thanks to Don Lane and his NFL highlights.

Week 2 – Seattle @ San Diego: Seahawks struck down by lightning Bolts

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, but a diehard Seattle Seahawks’ fan, Shane Donoghue suffered through his team’s first regular season loss since December 22 of last year.

About Shane Donoghue
