Week 14 – Seattle @ Philadelphia: ‘Hawks returning to championship form

We knew that Seattle @ Philadelphia would be a big game, and James Caughlin says the result may be ominous for the rest of the NFL as the Seahawks start to find some serious form.

About James Caughlin

Growing up in Brisbane Australia, James got into the NFL during the 2000 season thanks to the Madden NFL video game. His cousins told him to use the Patriots (as a prank on him) but 3 Super Bowls and multiple winning season’s later, he has had the last laugh. Now you will hear him yelling at the TV around 4am on a Monday morning watching every Patriots game live.

Week 13 – Seattle @ San Francisco: Ain’t no gunslinger today

Frustrated Forty Niners fan Tony Reed watches a painful Thanksgiving Day effort from his team and low-on-confidence quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

About Tony Reed

A 49ers fan from the the Joe Montana days, now enjoys wearing his Kaepernick top when watching games

Week 12 – Arizona @ Seattle: Drew Stanton draws a blank

James Caughlin assesses the state of the Arizona Cardinals, who may have a tough time remaining among the NFL’s elite despite a strong defense and the decent play of backup QB Drew Stanton.

Week 12 – Arizona @ Seattle : Even Metallica has limits

Metallica have lost a few key players through the years. Likewise, take out two of the Cardinals best performers and things aren’t going to be the same. Oh, and Seattle are finding some key form when it matters most. Steve Baker borrows Ed Wyatt’s seat at CenturyLink Field as the NFC West heats up.

About Steve Baker

Steve Baker cashed in his horses for choppers and went tear-assing around ‘Nam, looking for the shit. He’s been known to chopper in t-bones and beer and turn the L-Z into a beach party. Steve’s the defending ‘Most Pessimistic Dallas Fan’ champion and is in the midst of a life-long campaign to one day buy the Cowboys off Jerry Jones and end the madness. He’s also chief button-pusher for the Footy Almanac Podcast, so you can blame him.

Week 11 – Seattle @ Kansas City : I am the Walrus, Koo Koo Ka Choo

“The sea was angry that day my friends. Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli…” A very ornery Steve Baker checks in from Arrowhead Stadium where the Chiefs accounted for the reigning champions.

Week 10 – NY Giants @ Seattle: Lynch, Wilson run Seahawks to victory

New York Giants’ fan Cody Royle sees some things to be proud of in his team’s loss to Seattle, with the final score not necessarily indicative of how the Giants played.

About Cody Royle

A Melbourne-native, Cody packed up and moved to Toronto, Canada in 2009 largely to be closer to the NFL and his beloved New York Giants. He now coaches the Canadian Aussie Rules team and can be found tweeting @codyroyle.

Week 9 – Oakland @ Seattle: At 0-8, is it time for the Raiders to give up on the playoffs?

Oakland fan Greg McLeod facetiously admits that his 0-8 Raiders aren’t going to make the playoffs. But on a serious note, their 14-game losing streak has him quite concerned.

About

Melbourne, Australia based NFL fan (real and fantasy). First memory of the NFL is Super Bowl XVI (49ers v Bengals) in 1982. For reasons that cannot be recalled now, commenced following the Oakland Raiders at that time. Has seen two American football games live: December 1985 UTEP v Wyoming at Waverley Park and 2013 at Melbourne University.

Week 7 – Seattle @ St. Louis: Black Hole Sunday

Ed Wyatt says a bad week for Seattle Seahawk fans began with a controversial personnel move and ended with a second consecutive loss, this time to St. Louis.

About Ed Wyatt

Ed Wyatt grew up in Halfway, Maryland, following the Baltimore Colts like his football coach father. When he lost his Bert Jones #7 jersey at the Lincolnshire Elementary School playground, he should have taken it as an omen, since the Colts left Baltimore for Indianapolis. Ed has managed to avoid full time work by talking on the radio, smiling on the television and tapping on the keyboard of his computer. He won a number of local Emmy awards with the Seattle-based comedy show Almost Live! and hosted the Super Bowl live on Australian television for nine years. He is a graduate of Stanford University.

Week 2 – Seattle @ San Diego: Seahawks struck down by lightning Bolts

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, but a diehard Seattle Seahawks’ fan, Shane Donoghue suffered through his team’s first regular season loss since December 22 of last year.

About Shane Donoghue

Californian born Tasmanian living in Melbourne. Passionate about everything sports.

Week 1 – Green Bay @ Seattle: The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle

Ed Wyatt, who spent many years watching moribund Seattle sports teams, enjoyed the Seahawks opening day win over the Green Bay Packers on a sunny, festive day in the Emerald City.

Nirvana returns to Seattle

Ed Wyatt christens the Pigskin Almanac site by putting on his flannel shirt, stroking his goatee and assessing the state of play in Seattle, where the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks will open the 2014 season against visiting Green Bay.
